Recap: 2019 Food for the Hungry
Feb 6, 2020The Alumni Club of Knox County once again supported Food for the Hungry of Knox County. The community event, held on December 14, 2019, supports Interchurch Social Services and the Salvation Army by raising funds and canned food for local food pantries.
Over 25 club members and their families joined together to work on this event. Our members drove trucks from local car dealerships (Donley Ford Lincoln, Matthews Dodge Chrysler Jeep and The GM Group of Knox County) to seven collection points in Knox County. The trucks are used for patrons of the area businesses to make donations of canned foods. At the end of the day, the club members delivered the collected food to the food pantries.
Club members Mary Crumm and Tammy Miller supported the drive by creating Ohio-themed Christmas wreaths for silent auctions at events in Centerburg and Danville.
We are proud to help our Knox County community raise over $250,000 during the annual drive.
